We will be a self-sustained solution that allows a diverse group of people to prepare and polish their innovations for funding submission.
We will bring funding education solutions to women and minorities.
We will create opportunities for professionals to contribute to other people’s success while receiving compensation.
We continuously work on our Education Pillar through our media outlets. IMCI Magazine brings articles that both inspire and educate - written by the same top-notch coaches that present at the conference. During the conference, we feature several of the guests who appear at our television shows broadcast via Futures Television. Many of the conference presenters and keynote speakers have their own channels on FuturesNetwork.TV.
Training and Development are two important aspects of our mission. The online courses brought to you by SMB Digital Education offer additional training on a variety of applied business subjects. The training collection features a selection of Leadership, Strategy, Finance, Team Management, and many other subjects with the end goal of helping your nascent enterprise become more successful.
Our coaching activity is delivered through the Business Plan Competition. Participants are assigned an executive coach, who works with them to create or improve an existing business plan. Coaches meet for 5 weeks and during the sixth week, a panel of 3 Angel Investors provides feedback and judges the presentations - top 5 finalists are invited to present to the Angel Investors panel at VCAPAX - Day 1.
We invest a lot of time, resources, and energy into community-building activities. In addition to the conferences (VCLATINX, VCEUROPEX, VCAPAX, VCMEAX), and social media communities, we hold several round tables with magazine article writers, book authors, and special guests. The keynote presentations also support the 4 Pillars, as they are aligned with our community needs.
At the heart of what we do is our social vision of inclusion - our activities are designed around the need to create welcoming work environments, and assist those who were denied access to funding for any exclusionary reason - with the necessary business skills to help them move forward with achieving their dreams.
As we worked with professionals from varied walks of life - we initially learned women receive disproportionally smaller funding - than men do. The more we questioned the figures, the more we realized we needed to do something about it - with concrete actions, and not just talk.
As we explored this topic - low proportion of funding for women, we were confronted with a harsher reality - other minorities - Latinos, LGBTQ, Asian, Black, and Brown communities faced the exact same problem; and worse - those in double minority situations received even fewer opportunities.
This is exactly how VC APAX came to be - our desire to bring together professionals who are committed to dedicating time and effort to ensure women and minorities receive the same opportunities others do.
We are all about extending opportunities to others - and particularly to those who were overlooked in the funding process - to ensure their innovations come to fruition.
We work very hard to make sure people see themselves in the experts we bring to the conferences, the people selected to present at the conference are true experts in their respective fields, and in addition to that, they are representative of the minorities that make up our social frabric.
We are an American-based conference - the USA is our guiding star - we pay particular attention to Asia, to the countries located around the Pacific Ocean, and its Islands. We adopted the mnemonic APAX to show inclusivity - all genders are included - those who identify with birth gender, and those who identify with other options - the "X" is for that. We were concerned the "APAX" designation would be viewed as excluding countries in the Americas, so we made space for them in the logo, again to show all are welcome. We used four different people - of different colors - and in a heart shape - because we believe in acceptance, all are equally valued/cherished.
The people in the logo are intertwined - because face it - so are we. We work hard to ensure the same quality of service is extended to all, irrespective of demographic.
In this short video, we announce the upcoming VCAPAX Conference! This is a free online event focusing on women and minority entrepreneurs - Asia Pacific edition. We bring together the business community from the USA to meet communities in the Asia and Pacific Island regions. It is a four-day event, filled with opportunities to learn, brush up on business skills, and pick up some techniques from top-notch coaches.
